It lists the Nordmann fir, cut or pot-grown, with Fraser fir and Norway spruce at selected stores, so ask whether Smallford has all three. Staff net the tree, bag it if you want, and carry it to the car, and it delivers for a local charge.

Getting rid of the tree in January
Isabel Hospice collects real Christmas trees in Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield between 8 and 10 January 2027, raising money for its inpatient unit and Hospice at Home. Its Treecycle page lists the postcode sectors it covers, including AL7 1 to 4, AL8 6 and 7, and parts of AL6, AL9 and AL10. Decorations must come off, and trees over 6ft should be cut in half so they fit in the van. The hospice says it collected more than 1,500 trees last year. Our bin collection page has the council’s Christmas changes.
How we chose
We looked for farms, Christmas shops and garden centres selling real trees within about 10 miles of Welwyn Garden City, and for firms that deliver to AL6 to AL10, and kept only those whose own websites we could read on 5 November 2026. We left out Hatfield Christmas Trees, which sold trees in the grounds of Hatfield House last year, because its website still describes the 2025 season; we will add it when it confirms 2026. Van Hage at Great Amwell did not respond when we tried to read its website.
